We held the first annual Blogger Classic fantasy football draft yesterday, featuring some of the biggest bloggers in sports. Here’s a list of the top 9 things that happened in our draft.
9. Hot Clicks rep Jimmy Traina was not excited with his team, despite landing Tom Brady, Anquan Boldin, Marvin Harrison, and Reggie Bush. Jimmy was also the first one to recognize the Tailgating Ideas disaster (see number 1 below)
8. Awful Announcing and Busted Coverage handled the majority of the one-liners and comedic excellence throughout the draft. Still love that comment about Lou Holtz and the spit.
7. The Hazean was available throughout the draft to answer any and all questions regarding injuries, etc. Can anybody stump this guy on fantasy knowledge? For a few rounds, we suspected he was a computer.
6. Deadspin couldn’t log into the live draft due to Yahoo issues, until round 4 or 5. If Deadspin rep AJ Daulerio ends up winning, we’ll give big props.
5. The Big Lead opted for the autodraft, and somehow ended up getting Tony Romo, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, and Jeremy Shockey. This is hands down, the best “non-human” draft we’ve ever seen.
4. The Dirty’s Nik Richie did NOT draft Matt Leinart, despite a desperate plea from us to do it on principle alone..since he single-handedly exposed Bong Gate. Nik, like the Hazean, did his fantasy homework.
3. Chris Cooley’s brother, Tanner, representing the CC47 blog, drafted….Chris Cooley. Obviously, but we would have loved to draft him, then bench him….just for a reaction from Tanner.
2. NFL Juice, us, got the first pick of the draft….which sucks because we’re the commissioner. The pick is selected at random by yahoo, but still, it makes us look shady. Sorry guys. This should definitely be a Yahoo rule that the commissioner is never the lottery pick. Boner move of the draft, hands down.
1. Dave at Tailgating Ideas opted for the auto-draft. Unlike the Big Lead who landed a stellar team, Yahoo automatically drafted 6 quarterbacks to this guys roster! Total coincidence, total hilarity, and total glitch. Would somebody please report this to Yahoo- it’s gotta be a record.
*Stay tuned for season results, standings, and news.

Poor Tailgaters…. you still have the best brats!

trust me, no one is more ashamed than me. Nothing like getting called out by Traina for the whole world to realize you are a jackass. i did offer an explanation as to why my “auto-draft” was so screwy.

Now you will all have to hang your heads in shame when I beat you all.

What’s up with using Yahoo for your league. CBSsportsline does’nt cut the mustard?

Our league sponsor was familiar with Yahoo’s platform.
