“Ten days ago, I was doin’ yardwork,” said Brett Favre in the post game press conference following his debut with the Jets. Favre looked good. Real good, if you’re a Jets, and NOT, a Packer fan.
The three-time NFL MVP completed five of six pass attempts for 48 yards, including a four-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end Dustin Keller on New York’s second offensive series from scrimmage.
Favre’s TD toss, which put the Jets ahead 7-0 with 5:25 remaining in the first quarter, was set up by a crisp 19-yard pass to wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery on third down from Washington’s 20-yard line.
Juice: Let’s not get all giddy and gay about how good Brett looked. He completed a few passes and looked pretty cool. But it was preseason and he wasn’t really given any aggressive defensive looks-and nobody really does in the preseason.
Round one goes to Brett, but we’ve got a long season ahead. And besides, anybody notice how depressed this guy seemed in the press conference, and every interview since the trade? He’s still not over the break-up.

It is just pre-season. Brett will suck.
