Since 2004, only Indianapolis Colts wide-receiver Marvin Harrison and New England Patriots wide-receiver Randy Moss have caught more touchdowns than Gates. In 2005 and 2006 Antonio Gates was selected as the NFL’s All-Pro TE by the AP. Gates was the AP’s only unanimous choice for 2005. Gates has made four consecutive Pro Bowls in his career.
AG also holds the single season touchdown reception record for tight ends with 13. In 2005 Gates became only the second tight end in NFL history, behind Todd Christensen, to gain 1,100 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns in a single season.
