The St. Louis Rams selected Holt in the first round of the 1999 NFL Draft, as the sixth overall pick.

Holt, at 192 pounds, ran a 4.44 second 40-yard dash and had a vertical jump of 37 inches at the 1999 NFL Combine.   

On his left arm he has the letters TJH for Torry Jabar Holt.   On his right calf he has the tattoo of 54 for a tribute to his friend.  He changed his number from 54 in middle school to 88 to 81 in 2001.
