The 49ers were forced to give up the 5th round pick in this years draft for “tampering” with Chicago’s Lance Briggs.
Commish Roger Goodell made the ruling along with making the teams switch picks in the third round. Chicago, which had the 12th pick, will get San Francisco’s seventh pick and the 49ers will get Chicago’s choice.
